Play With Your Food

It can be a struggle sometimes getting Yara in the mood to enjoy mealtimes, so I've come up with a simple fun little game we like to play together to encourage her.
How to Play
While fixing a meal for your baby, select food items that they can easily pick up. In the past I've chosen things like sweetcorn, peas, halved cherry tomatoes, cooked carrot cubes, noodles and even grated cheese.
Next, what you want to do is put them in different plastic bowls and lay them in front of your baby.
Encourage your baby to choose different bits of food and help them to design a face on their plate. You can use tomato for the nose, cheese or noodles for the hair, carrot pieces as eyes and maybe a slice of orange for the mouth. The possibilities are endless! You may have to guide your baby’s hands to put things in their correct places but once complete the face Yara always has a giggle at the design! Now your baby is in a playful mood you can begin feeding them or leeting them help themselves to the food in front of them. Yara is amazingly (and surprisingly) absolutely loving her peas at the moment which i'm really happy about. So much so in fact, if I leave pieces of chicken or corn on her tray with the peas she only eats the peas!
Give it a go next mealtime so your little one can start building a positive relationship with food.
